Simply Someday

Simply Someday is a home for all the things you keep saying you’ll do one day. The places you want to see, the skills you want to learn, the adventures you’ve always fancied and the small personal things that matter just to you. Get them out of your head and into one list, sorted into categories with their own colours and icons. If you’re stuck for a start, tap Ideas and add any of the ready-made goals that appeal, or that you’ve already done.

Someday only comes if you make a start, so Simply Someday helps you choose. Pick three to five goals for this year and they sit at the top of your home screen, showing how many you’ve done. Give a goal a target date if you want one, or leave it as someday. Any picks you don’t reach simply go back on your list when the year ends, ready to choose again.

When you tick a goal off, it becomes a memory. Choose the day, add your photos and write how it felt, then look back through everything you’ve done, newest first. You can keep a finished goal in Simply Scrapbook or Simply Journal too, photos and all. Simply Someday works entirely offline, with no accounts and no adverts, in light or dark themes on phones and tablets.

FAQ

Is there a limit to the number of goals I can add?

There is no practical limit to the number of goals or categories.

Do I have to think of all my goals myself?

No – tap Ideas on the home screen and add any you like from the ready-made list. Each one goes into a category, which is made for you the first time it’s needed.

How many goals should I pick for this year?

Three to five is a good number to aim for, but the app won’t stop you choosing more.

What happens to my picks at the end of the year?

They stop being picks and go back to being goals for someday, ready to choose again. Nothing is lost.

Can I add something I’ve already done?

Yes – add it as a goal, tap Mark as done and choose the day you did it.

Do I need Simply Scrapbook or Simply Journal?

No – Simply Someday works perfectly well on its own. If you have them, you can also keep a finished goal in either one. Simply Journal will ask whose journal it belongs in, and for the PIN if there is one.

Can I share my list with someone?

Yes – save a category as a PDF, or send it to a friend as a single file. Your friend gets the goals, photos, notes and links, and imports them into their own copy of Simply Someday. Your picks, done dates and what you wrote about how it felt stay with you.

Is my bucket list private?

Yes – there are no accounts, no adverts and no tracking, and Simply Someday doesn’t use the internet at all. Your goals and photos stay on your device. There is an optional backup to your own Google account, which is off unless you turn it on.

How to use Simply Someday

Open the app and on a tablet the screen will be divided in two sides – the left hand or home panel shows your tiles, and whatever you open appears beside them. On a narrower screen like a phone, each tile opens its own page. Return to the home screen by using the back button.

The home screen contains:

  • A This year tile showing how many of this year’s picks you’ve done
  • A Done tile leading to everything you’ve ticked off
  • A button to create a new category
  • An Ideas tile with the ready-made goals
  • An All tile showing every goal together
  • A tile for each category
  • A settings button where you can change the app theme, decide on the display mode (large or small tiles) and import a category from a friend

Inside a category, tap + to add a goal. Open a goal and tap This year to pick it, or Mark as done when you’ve done it.
